A MARKETING LEADER WHO BUILDS THE ENGINE - NOT JUST THE STRATEGY DECK

I embed with your team as a fractional CMO — building the strategy, standing up the systems, developing the people, and owning the number. Not advisory from arm's length. I run your marketing.

HOW I WORK

Not a consultant. Not an agency. A marketing leader.

I don’t hand you a playbook and disappear. I embed with your team as your marketing leader — attending leadership meetings, managing your marketing function, building the systems and processes that drive pipeline.

I’ve spent 20 years doing this across pre-revenue startups, high-growth scale-ups, and multi-billion dollar enterprises like Microsoft, Tableau, and Getty Images. I’m a practitioner — I still run campaigns, configure HubSpot, build workflows in Clay, and get my hands dirty alongside your team.

Most engagements run 3–12 months or longer. When you need capabilities beyond what I cover — design, dev, paid media specialists, content production — I bring in trusted professionals I’ve worked with and manage them as part of the engagement. You get a full marketing function without the overhead of an agency.

I lead, not advise

I’m in the weeds with your team — setting sprint plans, running standups, reviewing campaigns, presenting to the board. This isn’t advisory from arm’s length.

I build systems that outlast me

Demand gen engines, reporting frameworks, team structures, and processes designed to keep running after the engagement ends.

I develop your people

If you have a team — even a team of one — I invest in developing them. The best outcome is a team that’s stronger because I was there.

WHAT I COVER

Everything a head of marketing should own

Every engagement is different, but these are the areas I work across. Most clients need 3–4 of these immediately, and the rest over time.

Demand Generation

Pipeline-focused programs across paid, content, outbound, events, and partnerships. Built around a demand model with real math, not hope.

Positioning & Messaging

Strategic narrative, ICP definition, competitive positioning, and messaging frameworks that align the whole company around how you talk about what you do.

Marketing Ops & Analytics

Tech stack, attribution, reporting, and the operational backbone that makes marketing measurable and accountable to revenue.

Sales & Marketing Alignment

Shared definitions, SLAs, pipeline reviews, and the hard conversations that turn two departments into one revenue team.

Team Building & Leadership

Hiring, structuring, and developing marketing teams. From your first marketer to a scaled function. I build the team and the culture.

AI Integration

Practical AI adoption across your marketing function — not buzzwords, but workflows, tools, and processes that actually save time and improve output.

FROM CEOS I'VE WORKED WITH

What it's like to work together

“Jason was responsible for generating 70%+ of the revenue at Metadata”
“...by applying his strong capabilities across brand, demand gen and operations. During his 4 years at Metadata, he rarely missed pipeline goals from Marketing.”
Gil Allouche
CEO | Metadata
"Since Jason joined the team, we’ve grown more than 200%."
"We knew what we wanted to achieve in sales, but we didn’t yet have the marketing engine to power it. Jason helped us develop our strategy and, just as importantly, rolled up his sleeves to work closely with our team."
Dave Will
CEO & Co-Founder | PropFuel
“Jason is a rare kind of marketer”
"Equally adept at leading, strategy, and getting his hands dirty to execute at the campaign level. He understands conventional wisdom in marketing but more importantly, he knows where it doesn't work and how to get creative. With a tiny marketing team, we've greatly appreciated his advice on which programs to focus on, how to think about hiring and building marketing from the ground up."
Mona Akmal
CEO | Falkon
"Jason helped us build the marketing engine we needed to scale."
"We were at a point where we knew our product was strong, but our marketing wasn't keeping pace. Jason came in, assessed our resources, and built an ambitious yet realistic plan and foundation. What I appreciated most was that he didn't just hand us a playbook; he worked alongside our team to implement it. The impact on our pipeline was real and measurable."
Bharath Varma
CEO & Co-Founder | Zuddl

FAQ

Common questions

What's the difference between a fractional CMO and a consultant?

A consultant tells you what to do. I actually do it. I embed with your team, attend your leadership meetings, manage your marketing function, and own the results. The "fractional" part just means I do it part-time — the commitment and accountability are the same as a full-time hire.

How long do engagements typically last?

Anywhere from 3 to 12 months, and sometimes longer. Some clients bring me in for a focused build and hand it off to a full-time hire. Others keep me on as a strategic partner. The goal is always to build systems and develop people so that your marketing function works without me — but I stay as long as it makes sense.

Do you work with companies that already have a marketing team?

Yes — and I often prefer it. If you have a team, I lead and develop them. If you don't have a team yet, I help you build one. Either way, the goal is to make the people around me better at their jobs.

What kind of companies do you work with?

B2B tech startups, mostly seed through Series C. SaaS, martech, adtech, enterprise software. I've worked across stages and industries, but early-to-mid stage B2B is where I do my best work because I've done it the most and the pattern recognition is strongest.
